Enrollment in a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe (elementary or secondary) is an annual process and is open to students who sincerely seek a Catholic, Christian-oriented education.  Although we welcome all students interested in a well-rounded, academic education, admissions preference is given to practicing Catholics.  Students will not be refused admission to Catholic schools because of race, color, gender, or national origin. (FAM-501)  Saint Mary’s Catholic School is faith- based and operates under the direction of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.

Age requirements:

Saint Mary’s Pre-K accepts children from ages 3½ to 4 years.

Children entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old by August 31 of the school year.  [NM Law 22-8-2M] (Completion of a pre-school program does not replace the minimum age requirement.)  At registration, kindergarten students will be conditionally accepted into Saint Mary’s.   Full acceptance is contingent on results of the readiness test given at the beginning of the school year.

Children entering First Grade must be six years old by August 31 of the school year.  [NM Law 22-8-2M]

New students seeking admission to Saint Mary’s Catholic School and their families can meet with the principal and download the required forms above to fill out.  Placement tests may be scheduled to determine where the students skills are in reading and math.

Registration begins each February for the following school year. Please download, print and return all the required registration files, include child's birth certificate, baptism record and immunization record. For more information please contact us!

Every effort is made to keep tuition reasonable for families. Every family with a strong desire to have their children attend a Catholic school should have the opportunity. That being said, all families in need of tuition assistance should apply through FACTS, before the end of April of each year. FACTS determines each student’s need and the funds are distributed on that basis.
